“As written, Ryan Gosling comes into this baptism, sits down in the middle of the pews with all the people, and is enraged that another man is baptizing his son. So I had 500 people from Schenectady show up in their Sunday finest. You had Eva Mendes, Mahershala Ali, and the baby: Everyone’s dressed to the nines. I had the camera in the back of the church, and I told Ryan, ‘Come in and find a place to sit.’ Ryan walks into the church, and he’s literally a marked man. He cannot fit in anywhere.”

“He moved over to the corner of the church, and I just panned with him as he sat down. Then I cut and moved my camera into a close-up. And I was shooting this close-up of him, and behind us, there was this baptism going on. I noticed Ryan wasn’t getting enraged as I had expected, but he was trembling. And I noticed that this well of emotion was building in him, this humiliation, this deep shame. And he started to break down on camera. As his friend, all I wanted to do was shut the camera off and give him a hug. Give him a napkin and wipe it off: It’s just pretend. But that’s what we were there for. You’re always trying to get to a place where the acting stops and behavior begins. That’s what these tattoos are for — actors are very much like athletes to me, I work with them on a very physical level. I feel like the physical level affects the psychological and the emotional.”

I’ve started blurting out personal stuff to coworkers at my job. Things I can’t tell my friends. What is happening?! I need to get outta here.

Reblog if you’re a bitter, sarcastic asshole who likes classic rock.

When yesterday’s gone and tomorrow is near
Why look for a thing when it’s already here?
And tell me you never once asked yourself how
Some people end up in the middle of the now.

Now is the beat of the feet on the floor
Now is the then we were all waiting for
It’s the strike of the luck
It’s the go with the flow
It’s the sharing the love with the people we know.

See a wise fool once said kind of out of the blue
That life is a dream that’s already come true.
It’s the less of the what, of the where and the how
It’s more of the you, of the me and the now.

I know, I know, It’s NSync and it’s cheesy but this makes the little kid in me supremely happy.

Having yesterday restarted fitness in general, but the 30 Day Shred specifically (for the 4th time - only made it to level 3 once), I decided to mix it up a little since I was finding it hard to focus and I never seem to see the program through. I dug through my fitness file on my laptop and came across this (I can’t remember which tumblr it belongs to but it had been reblogged by one I follow).

It took me 18m 30sec (not including rests or warm up/cool down) to complete the routine just once through. I modified a few (burpees, tuck jumps, push ups, mountain climbers) since my fitness level is really low again. I can honestly say it was much tougher than 30DS(L1) and definitely kicked me into gear for the first time in a while. I was pretty glad to be able to hold the full plank for 40secs.

Going to mix it up more from now on - I think it might be the key to building a fitter lifestyle.
